​1. Conditions for receiving voluntary occupational accident insurance in Vietnam

The conditions for receiving voluntary occupational accident insurance in Vietnam are as follows:

+Employees participating in voluntary occupational accident insurance are entitled to the provisions of voluntary occupational accident insurance under Article 4 of Decree 143/2024/ND-CP when they meet the following conditions:

+ Suffering a reduction in work capacity of 5% or more due to an occupational accident occurring during the time of participating in voluntary occupational accident insurance;

+ Not belonging to the cases specified in clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 143/2024/ND-CP.

Employees are not entitled to occupational accident policies under Article 4 of Decree 143/2024/ND-CP if the accident occurs due to one of the following reasons:

+ A conflict of the victim with the person causing the accident that is not related to the work, labor tasks;

+ The employee intentionally self-harms their health;

+ Use of drugs, illegal substances contrary to the law.

2. Methods and levels of contribution for voluntary occupational accident insurance in Vietnam

- Employees participating in voluntary occupational accident insurance register with the social insurance agency according to one of the following contribution methods:

+ Contribution every 06 months;

+ Contribution every 12 months.

- Participants of voluntary occupational accident insurance are allowed to change the contribution method. The change in contribution method is implemented after completing the previous registered contribution cycle.

- The level of contribution for voluntary occupational accident insurance is as follows:

+ A 06-month contribution equals 6% of the minimum wage of Region IV;

+ A 12-month contribution equals 12% of the minimum wage of Region IV.

3. Time of contribution for voluntary occupational accident insurance in Vietnam

The time of contribution for occupational accident insurance is as follows:

- For the first time, immediately upon registering for voluntary occupational accident insurance;

- For subsequent times, within 10 days before the end of the contribution cycle.

- Immediately upon re-registering for voluntary occupational accident insurance according to Article 17 of Decree 143/2024/ND-CP.
