In order to realize the signed contents between DongNai province and Kobe city on green growth cooperation, focusing on building some new industrial zones or converting existing industrial zones to develop according to the green and smart industrial park model; at the invitation of Kobe city government, DongNai province delegation led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of DongNai province Quan Minh Cuong visited and exchanged experiences in the coastal city of Kobe on September 11 and 12, 2024.
Representative of Kobe City Government, Mr. Masao Imanishi - Deputy Mayor of the city and the team of officials and experts welcomed, shared and guided the delegation to visit some typical facilities in the Kobe New City Project, the project was launched to rebuild the city after the great earthquake in 1995 and towards the goal of “Kobe City for the World". The highlight of Kobe City and also the top concern of DongNai province when pursuing the goal of green growth through piloting a number of ecological industrial zones is the connection between activities to create industrial symbiosis, save resources, and reduce emissions. And the model of waste and wastewater treatment to create hydrogen gas, methane as fuel for daily life and production; generating electricity from the heat generated during the waste incineration process to operate the systems and connect to the national grid of Kobe City has created an effective circular chain, specifically:
In Kobe city, Minatojima Clean Center is a place to safely treat household waste using a modern incinerator system with advanced technology to generate electricity from the energy generated during the waste treatment process and Higashinada Wastewater Treatment Plant - where domestic wastewater of a part of Kobe city's residents is treated - has combined the use of almost all energy and products generated during the treatment process for the purpose of creating value: burning waste to generate electricity, using electricity to operate the wastewater treatment system, treated wastewater is used to operate the exhaust gas treatment system (suppressing dust generated when burning waste) and wastewater from the waste treatment plant is transferred to the wastewater treatment plant for treatment; gas generated from the biological treatment process of wastewater and sludge (biogas) is used as energy for means of transport, domestic fuel...; treated water is reused to water plants, create landscapes, and serve fire prevention and fighting; The remaining ash after burning garbage and sludge is used as landfill material...
The same process is also applied in the industrial parks of the Kobe New City Development Project in the logistics area serving the remaining subdivisions, which are scientifically arranged, including the research and development subdivision (R&D park) adjacent to the complex residential area, gathering companies operating in research and development; Kobe high-tech park adjacent to the highway, gathering manufacturers diversifying and developing the industry; Kobe Techno logistics area adjacent to the industrial park and distribution area, attracting convenient utilities near the station.
During the field trip, the members of the DongNai Provincial Working Group were interested in asking many questions, exchanging and clarifying new points, successful results, and achieved green growth indicators of Kobe city to suggest development directions in DongNai.
On behalf of DongNai province, Head of the Working Group - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of DongNai province Quan Minh Cuong welcomed investors and experts from Japan in general and Kobe city in particular to cooperate in investment; replicate initiatives and solutions to protect the environment for the common goal of reducing carbon according to international commitments that Vietnam and Japan have participated in, ensuring effective implementation of the content of the memorandum of understanding that the parties have signed.
