According to the Government's
proposal, in 2020 the base salary will increase to VND 1.6 million/month (an
additional VND 110,000 /month). This proposal has received the consensus of the
majority of opinions in the Finance - Budget Committee of the National
Assembly. Currently, the base salary is 1.49 million/month.
At the report on the implementation
of the State budget 2019, the State budget estimate and the plan for allocation
of the Central Budget 2020, the Government has proposed raising the base salary
in 2020 to 1.6 million VND/month.
At this time, if the proposal is approved by the
National Assembly, the base salary in 2020 will increase by VND 110,000/month
compared to the current of VND 1.49 million/month.
It can be seen that this is the highest increase in
the past few years. From 2016 to 2019, the base salary is only the highest from
90,000 VND/month - 100,000 VND/month.
When the base salary increases, the actual salary and some
allowances of officials and employees will also be increased accordingly.
However, it is important to know that 2020 is the last year that base wages
still exist. According to the salary reform roadmap set out by the Politburo in
Resolution 27, from 2021, the base salary and salary coefficient will be
abolished and replaced with 05 new payrolls for officials.
At the same time, in order to implement well the
salary increase in 2020, the Verifying Agency also said that:
- The Government needs to reduce spending more by
effective measures in implementing the autonomy mechanism, drastically reducing
staffing, identifying job positions to prepare for wage reform from 2021 in the
spirit of Decree Resolution 27 of the XII Central Committee;
- For allowances and salary income, they must be
reviewed to ensure they are suitable with the characteristics of each branch
and field of operation;
- State agencies need to increase thrift and combat
wastefulness; Some localities must make drastically more streamlining the staff
to reduce recurrent spending …
