1. Officials, civil servants, public employees and workers will have days off for Lunar New Year in 2024 from Thursday, February 8, 2024 to Wednesday, February 14, 2024. This leave includes 5 days off for Lunar New Year and 2 days off to compensate for weekly holidays as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.
2. For civil servants and public employees, National Day in 2024 is from Saturday, August 31 to Tuesday, September 3 of the calendar. This leave includes 2 days off for National Day and 2 days off per week.
3. Agencies and units implementing Lunar New Year and National Day day-off schedule in 2024 of Lunar New Year and National Day should pay attention to properly arranging and arranging working departments to handle work continuously, ensuring to serve organizations and people well.
4. Agencies and units that do not have a fixed holiday schedule every Saturday and Sunday based on the specific program and plan of the unit, arrange a suitable holiday schedule.
5. Lunar New Year and National Day in 2024 for employees
Employees who do not belong to administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, and employers decide to choose Lunar New Year and National Day in 2024 as follows:
+ For Lunar New Year: the employer chooses 1 last day of the last lunar year and the first 4 days of the next lunar year or the last 2 days of the last lunar year and the first 3 days of the next lunar year or the last 3 days of the last lunar year and the first 2 days of the next lunar year.
+ For National Day: Monday, September 2, 2024 and the employer chooses 1 of 2 days: Sunday, September 1 or Tuesday, September 3.
+ Employers must notify employees of the plan to implement Lunar New Year and National Day day-off schedule in 2024 at least 30 days before implementation.
+ If the weekly day off coincides with a public holiday as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code, the employee is entitled to compensate for the weekly day off on the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111. Labor Code.
+ Encourage employers to apply Lunar New Year's days off for employees as prescribed for civil servants and public employees.
